Disney's Moana Jr. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 animated film. It follows Moana, a determined girl, as she sails across the Pacific to save her village and uncover her heritage. Alongside the legendary demigod Maui, Moana embarks on an epic journey of self-discovery, learning to harness her inner strength and power.

Inspired by Turkish folklore, Chasing Fear tells the story of a boy who leaves home to discover the true meaning of fear and ultimately become an adult. Set against a strikingly contemporary background featuring characters drawn from every corner of the earth, fantasy and reality blur in this adaptation of “The Story of the Boy Who Went Looking for Fear.” As the boy encounters ogres, ghosts, and mermaids, this original musical offers a topical and timeless reflection about outsiders and otherness.

The show has been developed with support from La Jolla Playhouse, New York University, New York Theatre Barn, New Village Arts, and Cygnet Theatre. This expanded and revised production features new musical numbers and showcases the talents of emerging performers at the start of their careers.

Chasing Fear is presented in partnership with by ArtPower at UC San Diego with support from the Campus Performance and Events Office. All performances will be held at the Epstein Family Amphitheater on the UCSD campus.

With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County) 13 is a musical about fitting in – and standing out! Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain… or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!?
